The Mission statement of the International Clubmakers Guild says in part, The ICG creates and maintains universal specification standards for the golf equipment industry.

In executing this part of the mission, the ICG Technical Committee along with it's members are always looking for areas where standards can be adopted.

We feel that it is important that clubmakers all over the world can speak the same language when it comes to specifications on golf equipment, and our standards efforts are aimed at achieving this goal.
