The ICG is pleased to announce that it is now offering the industry’s only truly independent member owned organization providing clubmaking & repair certification to all members in good standing. The program was developed so that all members can demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the area of golf club assembly and repair.
ICG Certified Clubmaker is intended to be a mark of excellence in the field of golf club assembly and repairs using the latest technology and techniques. This certificate of achievement by the identifies that the recipient is a member in good standing of the ICG and skilled at all aspects of Golf Club Assembly and Repair including, but not limited to, re-shafting graphite and steel shafts in various club head designs. Additional demonstrated skills in putter & iron repairs along with a working knowledge of MOI, Shaft Profiling and Spine Alignment are also included in the certification.
The clubmaking certification exam consists of a 150 question written exam (taken on-line) and a hands-on practical skills test involving the assembly of 5 clubs and a putter. Regional graders are in place at the following locations in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia to mentor each participant through the entire certification experience:

- Grading Arbitrator - Bob Dodds, Louisville, KY (US)
- Canada - Dave Eagar, Calgary, AB
- Europe - Frans van Daalen, Gilly sur Isere, France
- Northeast US - Jim Cook, Agawam, MA
- Central US - Dave Hohnke, Bloomington, IN
- South Central US - Don Johnson, Fairfield Glade, TN
- Western US (To get us started) - DJ McIntosh
- Asia - Eric Ng, Singapore
